After much work and many long nights, the girl’s room is finally finished! The goal was to get the interior completely done so that she could move in and out of our closet=). She’s in, but the exterior walls are still waiting in hopeful anticipation that they will get some lovin too. In the meantime, I’ll pretend that my house hasn’t been under construction the entire time we’ve lived here (more than 6 months now), and show off some pictures.
I reused her bedding and curtains that I had made for her room in our last house. She has a simple white crib sheet, and then the bumper I made using this fabric, and the curtains and bedskirt were made from a white textured fabric I had bought on clearance to make a duvet cover that never happened.
This sweet blanket was one of mine when I was little that my mom had saved. I love that she has so many collected pieces in her room.
The bear on the left was mine, and the koala was hubby’s.
My hubby’s great grandfather had made this rocking horse for my mother-in-law. It is such an amazing piece of art. I remember visiting my hubby’s grandparents back when we were still dating, and seeing this displayed in their entryway. My memory is not the best, so it’s funny the details that you hang on to from way back when.
The rocking bear was a gift from her grandparents on her first Christmas. I diy’ed the art above it, using scrapbook paper and some old canvases that I painted white. Her gallery wall has my favorite pictures from when she was first born.
Her changing table and crib have been used by all three of our kids, as well as my nephew. It is full of little teething marks and scrapes, but I love it so much more because of that. I also diy’ed most of this gallery wall also. The teal bow holder I made from a frame I found at Hobby Lobby, and the “You are Loved” was another re-painted canvas. On the far right is a cross-stitch my grandmother made me with the Lord’s Prayer.
So there it is. Our little room fit for a princess. Which is what this little girl thinks she is=). Seriously with two big brothers to spoil her, she is starting to rule the roost- I’m a little worried!
Hope you enjoyed it as much as we do!
