We have so many exciting things growing in our garden! Strawberries should be just a few weeks out, there are peaches and nectarines on the trees. Soooo many blueberries, ahh I can’t wait!
I look like a crazy plant lady. I suppose that’s better than a crazy cat lady? My windowsill is overrun with tomato and green pepper starts. I think I will replant them once more in their own deeper containers before I move them outside.
I also started cucumbers, yellow squash, and zucchini and transplanted them outside already. We had a really windy night right after I planted them and I lost a few, although more than half are looking great still. I didn’t keep track of what was what, so I guess I’ll just be surprised when they start producing- Ha! Note to self, label next year!
We started some peas, hopefully we got them in the ground early enough with this unusually warm spring, and I’m not sure if the chicken wire on the fence will be adequate for them to climb. I had the seed packet though, and my motto this year is just going to be give it a try! This year will have a steep learning curve, I’m afraid=).
They’re not in such a neat little row, but oh well.
Here’s a better look at the strawberry plants and peach tree. And a big patch of clover. Oops. The peach tree is pretty young, so from what I’ve read, I didn’t prune it much at all this spring, and it has a ton of peaches on it that I’ll need to thin so it doesn’t split.
I’m so excited to see what kind of yield we’ll get this year- if I don’t kill them all=). I’ve got to get some produce right?
It’s been so much fun seeing what is popping up all over the yard, we managed not to destroy these beautiful iris when we put in the kids playset, so that was a win!
Wish me luck!
