Join me as we make our second house our home. I plan on sharing our projects, renovations, DIY disasters (hopefully not!), a little of our family life, and maybe a few recipes here and there. Basically an account of our life here! I am slowly finding my style, mostly a relaxed modern farmhouse, nothing too stuffy, but livable with a little pretty. I have a fear of commitment and can be quite indecisive, which makes for a painstakingly slow process, but as I grow and learn, I am learning to trust my instincts and go with what I love. I have worried that my “style” is the next fad, but looking back at homes I’ve loved throughout the years, it really hasn’t changed. I think now there is a name to what I have always been drawn to, and it just represents making a home that is clean, practical, livable, and beautiful for our families. I love everything that the “farm life” represents- family, home-cooking, gardening, being resourceful, peaceful surroundings, hard work, and so much more. Everything I can remember my Grandparents doing in their day to day life when we would visit their farm. While we would love to trade our slice of suburbia for 40 acres in the country, school districts and family are keeping us here, so we are doing our best to make our new-to-us home on an acre our “farm.” Welcome!
